“Sadaqa is charity given voluntarily to please Allah (SWT).”

There are several hadiths on Sadaqah, some of which are:

  •  “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.”
  • Charity will be the believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection.”
  • Allah will remove all blessings associated with greed, but He will enhance reward for charity work, for He does not love the unthankful and the sinner.”

Islam is actually what our Holy Prophet did in his life. Therefore, if we want to be the favorite of Allah, we should follow every act and teaching of His Prophet (PBUH).

So while performing Sadaqah, we should remember how our Holy Prophet (PBUH) performed this.

These four ways to perform Sadaqah

Feed the poor

Muslims are asked to do their part to prevent hunger among the poor. He is not a Muslim if he has a full stomach and his neighbor is starving, according to the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Giving water to the needy people 

Our source of life is water, which is a gift from Allah (SWT). Therefore, the Prophet Muhammad (saw) advised us not to waste water and to share this priceless resource with others: “To give someone water (to drink) is the best kind of charity.”

Help orphans

We must protect and support vulnerable orphans as taught by Prophet Muhammad (saw): “Blessed is the wealth of the Muslim, from which he contributes to the destitute, the orphan, and the wayfarer.” (Muslim)

Take care of widows. 

The widow is like the person who is striving in the way of Allah. Hence the Prophet Muhammad (saw) urged his Ummah to take care of our widowed sisters who are still emotionally and financially weak after losing their spouses. Muslim; Bukhari.

  • Sadaqah helps a person earn iman. 
  • Sadqa improves people’s well-being and helps meet the basic needs of the weaker members of society.
  • Lessens the responsibilities of individuals who are in debt or struggling with money
  • helps in the recovery from a variety of diseases
  • It cleanses a person’s heart of all greed and malice.
  • Eliminates bad luck and increases wealth
  • Assists in gaining Allah’s blessings and mercy.
